Private Git repository

What is it and what is it good for?

The Git repository is the basic tool for every developer. We provide you and your team or agency with a private workspace on our Git environment. This is accessible to all participants, on neutral ground so to speak, and as always, without any lock-in. The code belongs to you, and access is possible at any time and for anyone with authorization. Collaborative work with freelancers and external service providers is possible right away. A great benefit of the Git repository is that all steps are documented directly. Parallel development and up-to-date documentation are key criteria in everyday multi-project work and are fulfilled by Git. Our cluster configuration for each project is also stored in a repository with access.

Technical details

Every ScaleCommerce customer receives private Git repositories for configuring all servers in the cluster and the source code of the shops. We use a dedicated GitLab for this and take care of updates, security patches, and repository management. You and your team always retain control over the code and configuration.

What does this mean for your business?

The core of your software, your shop, your business is secure, centrally stored and documented under your control. Every authorized employee can work, research, document, and even restore backups in the event of loss.

What risks are you avoiding by doing this?

Your developers, administrators, and/or contact persons are on vacation, and it becomes known that an application has a critical security vulnerability. If the code is not under your control, your hands are tied at first. With the Git repository, this dependency is usually eliminated. It also enables parallel work without developers getting in each other's way.
